Suffolk LoRaWAN Launch

From 19th February 2021, Suffolk businesses will be able to create and modify their own sensors to be part of our industry-leading new sensor network. Suffolk County Council held a launch event to showcase what’s possible and leading IoT expert Mark Stanley joined to explain exactly how this exciting new technology works, helping you to see ways it will benefit you and your business.

Suffolk Highways and the ADEPT SMART Places Live Labs Programme also provided insight into how sensors are already being used to better control street lighting. Matthew Applegate, from the Creative Computer Club joined us to talk about how young people are benefiting from monitoring more of the things around them, and how young people will be helping to develop some sensor ideas of their own.

Norfolk LoRaWAN Launch

Norfolk County Council officially launched the Norfolk and Suffolk Innovation Network on Tuesday 15 September 2020. The free launch event aimed at local businesses to encourage them to make use of the innovative new technology.

Norfolk businesses are already seeing the benefits from the industry-leading new sensor network.

Tech industry experts including Norfolk County Council’s Chief Technical Officer Kurt Frary explained how the technology works and Norfolk County Council leader Andrew Proctor and Cllr Tom FitzPatrick outlined the council's ambition and future with connectivity in Norfolk.
